A few years back we started a new holiday “tradition”. We’re once again looking forward to “adopting” seven families in need for the holidays through a tremendous organization, Kids Oneida. To make their holidays a little brighter, we provide gifts and items of need to these families from their wish lists.
We are given a list of the names/ages of the children and what they are in need of and what they would like to find under the tree. Each one of our branches plus our Member Care Center has a family with New Hartford having 3. Employees can shop for items on the list or give monetary donations. Once the shopping is done, we set up wrapping stations around our branches and everyone helps out when they can.
Instead of giving to one another in the office, we give back to our community and we hope you’re inspired this holiday to do a little something for someone in need as well.

Mike Parsons talks about how First Source Federal Credit Union Members, staff and friends have been giving back to the community for more than 75 years. Giving of your time and resources helps so many in our area lead more productive lives, and enriches everyone in the Mohawk Valley. Mike invites you to join the effort and help make a difference.

There are many ways to give back to our community, and it warms our hearts to work together with our community partners to provide funds to our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals member Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. Eileen Pronobis and Julie Wells talk about how new equipment, facilities, supplies and personnel can save lives in our community, from newborns to 18-year-olds, and improve the quality of life for their families as well.

At First Source, we truly believe in giving our time and talents back to our community, and we have a wonderful staff who dedicate themselves not only to serving our Members, but also to various causes all over central New York. We’ll be highlighting some of the reasons why they volunteer, in their own words.
I have participated in bowling tournaments, concert series, Child ID programs, Relay for Life, Wine Auction as a spotter, phone calls on behalf of Richard Hannah to get people out and voting, AHA Heart Run/Walk, Wyman Family Fun Day, and more.
I volunteer because helping others brings me joy. It allows me to give to those who need the support and assistance they may not receive otherwise. I volunteer because these organizations help to raise awareness and funds for research. In some cases, loved ones have been lost and I give to help prevent future loss and/or assist those who are left behind.

Joe Corr Annual Memorial Softball Tournament – July 20th at Washington Mills Park
Proceeds to benefit two students from New Hartford High School who will receive a scholarship in Joe’s name.
These are just a handful of great events happening this summer in the Mohawk Valley. Get involved and help our community while having a great time!
